Due dates, deadlines, and reminders

Due dates in LyncView serve two purposes: telling you what's coming up, and telling clients when to expect it.

Setting due dates

Each task can have a due date. Templates set defaults via "due offset" (days from project start). On a project, you can override any due date by clicking it.

The Deadlines view

The Deadlines page shows every active task with a due date across all your projects, sorted by due date. Filter by project, owner, or status.

Email reminders

Tasks due within the next 3 days trigger an email reminder once per day to the assigned team member. Reminders stop once the task is marked complete or its due date is moved.

The reminder cron runs daily. If you don't see expected reminders, check that:

  • The task has an actual due date set
  • The task isn't already marked complete
  • The assigned user has a valid email address
  • SMTP is configured for your account (Settings → Email)

Client-visible due dates

If a task is visible to a client, its due date is too. This is a feature — it sets clear expectations. If you don't want a client to see a specific date, either remove the due date on that task or hide the task from the client.

Recurring due dates

For recurring projects (weekly content, monthly reports), use the Recurring Schedules feature instead of repeatedly creating projects manually. It auto-generates new projects from a template on a schedule.
